This idea just came to me. If its been mentioned before then just /slap me. We all want more player bounties. We want to hunt real people and not just Jedi. The problem lies in griefing the game play of others. Why not link player bounties to factional rank. Whether Reb or Imp we all spend factional points to advance in rank. Why not set up the system so that at a certain rank level, warrent officer for example, players have a chance of ending up on the BH terms. As you increase in rank the chance getting on the terms increases incrementaly. Players could decide, by not advancing in rank or remaining neutral, whether or not to take part in this form of PVP. It makes sense too, I mean wouldn't factions place bounties on high ranking members of the opposing faction? It seems to me this simple solution would make everyone happy and fit nicely into the GCW. What do you guys think?

the only problem, people who dont wanna be hunted will just become neutral

i dont agree with the dont camp, if ur mission is to kill a jedi then u kill that jedi the mission isnt "incapped the jedi, death blow him and let him rez" the mission is "elimante target"
So, when you incap and db him the first time, then the game says "Mission Completed", gives you your XP and cash, you think its actually lying to you?
That actually might be a good thing, I'm tired of seeing tons of people of the same faction and none of them will do anything to help you when your getting ganked by another overt, heh. Too bad they just didn't make it where your always overt when your in a faction but I guess that would be too much for some people.
One idea I heard that is really good, is that now because of the FRS system, everyone has a kill and been killed counter on them, so anyone that has a lot of kills through PvP should get on the terminals, I see nothing wrong with something you do in PvP lead to more PvP through bounties on your head. In addition just to make it fair, they need to send you an email when a BH has taken your bounty so you know to be extra cautious. No reason to do that for Jedi, because they are suppose to be always cautious and no reason to just give them even more when they have already received a lot.

Check out http://www.swghuntersguild.com/
It's only for the naritus server, but we may implement it on other servers in the future.

Only if the player is overt. Kinda like with jedi, they flash their saber or powers around they end up on the terminal.
A overt imp/reb flashes his ensignia around, he/she ends up on the terminal.
Thats a good idea!

if you didn't want to be hunted you wouldn't have to be neutral, just don't rise in rank in your current faction. Only high ranking members of a faction will warrent bounties to be put on their heads. Just stay a private.

I know they are never going to have player bounties except the Jedi ones but for Role-play purposes they should let players put there own names on the bounty terminals if they want to be hunted. It would make the game much more exciting for Rebels and smugglers that want to do more pvp but not just the occasional stomp in anchorhead from the 4 ATST's that walk threw the town.

Actually, I'd just prefer player bounties. But unfortunatly that would just cause griefing up the wazoo. But instead of say putting the bounty out on yourself. It should just be an option that you can select that allows people to post bounty's on you. If you have that option selected, when somebody puts a bounty out for your hide, it will show up on the terminals(under a specific catagory). You get informed that you have a bounty and the fun begins. If you don't have the option selected then the bounty just never makes it to the terminals. No money is wasted on the bounty issuers behalf, and no BH will ever hunt the person.

Player bounties will work fine in the game as long as it's very expensive to put the "hit" on someone.
If the cost is say...$100,000 thenI don't think the player bounty system will be abused. Then make the payout for completing a player bounty in the $50,000 range. This isa reasonable payout toentice a BH to take the risk.
The devs are always looking for ways to take money out of the game. What a great way to do it! using these numbers....each bounty will remove $50,000 credits from the server plus some travel fees.

Increase the payout to 150k.
Then BH will recieve 100k for per bounty - only accessable when Master Bounty Hunter.
Also, if these rules are used it should only be possible to get one bounty on your head per week.

Heres and Idea for Player bountys....everytime a player gets ripped off or verbally offended..im talking ratial stuff here when the player reports the claim to a csr and it is found a valid complaint the csr will inturn ask the player that made the ticket if they would like to fund a player bounty instead of the csr taking action...depending on how serious the violation of the TOS was (somtimes people just need to lose their account)
If the reporting player wishes to fund a bounty the csr then collects the ammount from the player and a player Bounty is created....the player has the ability to put as much or little credits into the bounty as they wish. I would take them for free.

I know the devs said they would never do this. But why not chage it to only people declared as spec ops. You would have to be spec op to be able to take the mission. Since this person is spec op they are a willing combatant.
My original idea was to have regular players gain visability if they blow up bases. but that was a year and a half ago and well looks like they didnt use it.

Have only certain NPC's give player bounties.
Jabba.
Borvo
Lady Valarian.
Other key NPC's
A player Bounty is generated when a player acheives -5000 Faction and keeps that ammount of negative faction for a certain period of time.
Once the player is killed their faction is reset dropped by 1000.
Could it work?
