Thread: PLZ listen to this jedi
Copied from the Community Standards:
Training is defined as pulling/leading a hostile NPC or creature along behind you and attempting to get it to attack another player who does not desire that engagement.
The intentional training of NPCs or Creatures will result in immediate disciplinary action when witnessed by a CSR, or if sufficient evidence is available.
You know....I thought the same thing....but do a search in the knowledge base for afk grinding..
QuestionIs AFK-macroing okay?AnswerAFK macroing using the macro system in the game is okay. The use of 3rd party programs however is against the end user license agreement.

What a nub.
You're the "nub".
AFK grinding isn't against the rules.
Training mobs IS.
I've never trained mobs on the jedi down on the Trail. I've gotten a few lying Jedi file frivolous reports on me saying that I did train the spiders on them -- which is a total lie. I actually take great care for the mobs to NOT aggro them. I burst run down the trail and usually 2 spiders follow me down. I stand in the corner to kill them before going after my mark. One time a stupid Jedi who had an AOE attack macro running hit one of the spiders I was fighting ... in effect "kill stealing" and pulling aggro to his whole group. A minute later the one ATK Jedi in the group said he was reporting me for training mobs. I was like, huh? I didn't train the mob on them. The stupid AFK Jedi's macro pulled aggro away from me. Since I can only attack one spider at a time, aggro immediately went to the group. Really stupid. If they don't want the spiders to attack them, they shouldn't attack the spiders. Really, really stupid. I'm perfectly happy to kill the spiders off before working on the Jedi I have a mission on.

The thing is, the AI on the spiders is such that they do not aggro you at the bottom of the trail ... UNLESS you physically attack them first. The stupid Jedi with AFK AOE attacks in their macro pull the spider to themselves. I don't see how this can be construed as training when the Jedi was the one who attacked the spider, drawing aggro.

AFK grinding may not be against the rules but it is lame when you factor in the reasons why most people do it, in that certain area where droids do not work....
Given, maybe not all Jedi do it for that reason but MOST do.
and yes I am a Jedi.
Kyias a Jedi now? ![]()
Need to bust out my BH ![]()
j/k

I remember when I played EQ, training mobs was a bannable offense.
EQ was run by SOE
SWG is run by SOE, so I wouldn't test them unless you've got an account to lose.

In that example it's not.The original postsaid you were reported for dragging mobs over to the Jedi. If that was the case then yes it is against the rules.

Pulling two level 77 creatures over to a mob of afk jedi is not against the rules. Had they not been using afk lazy macro's they would never had drawn the agro off me. cheating nubs. shame on all you.
One more time...Training creatures to a group of players afk or not is against the rules. I watched as CSRsobserved thenbanned one player who trained DJK into MO on the Intrepid server to kill AFK entertainers in the cantina. You might have gotten away with it but it was still wrong of you to do.
Don't be obtuse.

i understand the rule that "training" is technically cheating, (by the definition anyway) but how can they prove it? i've kited things b4 and had them start attacking other players completely on accident - i even healed the guy and made nice. but i didn't have to. i could have been like "ehh his problem now" and walked off - and the only difference between this and the OP's story to a CSR would be jedi would whine. so what can he do?
They don't have to prove it. They just have to witness it.
