Thread: So 5 million credits later I'm only hitting jedi for 100-250 damage per shot. Help :/

How are people supposed to win solo when we do so little damage? Is there anything I can do to hit for more damage, because its just insane that a 3.5 million credit carbine only hits for 100.. I hate to think what normal weapons hit for.
Give me some tips people ! For long fights..no surprise attack garbage!!

You picked a template and are now trying to use it completely wrong...

MBH/MCM doesnt deal damage to a Jedi, if you wanted to deal damage then MRM/MBH was for you. You picked a template designed to burn the forcebar of a Jedi, where DoTs are your primary form of damage. Let me clear a few things up for you.

An Jedi with 0040 defender (which would be about 80% of your server im guessing) will reduce any damage you can deal with any gun you use to CDEF levels. Thats a fact, expect it, prepare for it. It doesnt matter what gun you use, once aura is hit, you'll be dealing minimum damage with that weapon. If you must use a gun, then a FWG5 (most likely featherweight) is your best option.

If you arent prepared for long fights where you dont deal much damage and have to use CM for output, then find a new template. Your template should reflect your playstyle if you ever hope to beat a good Jedi, simply getting the uber-pill of the month is not enough if you dont know its strengths and weaknesses and are prepared to live with them.

In short, 'a BH' doesnt do little damage, you do, based on your template which is designed not to deal damage.

so what would you guys recommend for hunting jedi. MRM/MBH/CM4xxx or MBH/MCM/Pistoleer xxx4 or are there any other temps anyone could suggest?

Exactly. Be a Combat Medic first, a range damage dealer second. Doesn't matter how much money you spend on your gun, the damage against a defender will be minimal. You have DOTs and paralize. You have a great amount of control of the combat, keep that control and useit. I will tell you that a MCM is the most scary person to fight. Not because of how much damage they deal, but how long the fight will be. Eventually some one will make a mistake, if that is the jedi that makes the mistake, then they will go down. Fighting a MR, MBH is simple and straight forward. The only time a good jedi will lose to that template is if they are afk or just not paying attention and let themselves get in a very bad spot, like having no force or low health.


With that in mind buy the DOT enhancers. I suggest deteriumpyro, the + range accuracy drink. Don't use it at first. Fight, fight and fight until you have the DOTs doing their toll and the jedi not paying attention to everything, like renewing that aura. When that drops, or is about to, use the drink and do KD then hit hard as you can.

Even though ours was the draw, I feel you actually did well. Neither of us could damage the other enough to overcome our abilities to heal. ( excellent job on the kiting btw ). And you can take a small amount of satisfaction that I broke off the encounter.


What you did right :


coming at me as a rebel was a good ploy. I've gotten sloppy about consideringsame faction as a threat. It bought you a few seconds of surprise that as a neutral ( orimperial ) you wouldn't have gotten.


great job of kiting.


great job on healing. I was watching your mind, and you were careful not to get yourself to the point where you would run low when I would press the attack.



What you did wrong:


You made some assumptions about my template that were wrong.


You attacked while I was at full health, full force, and un-distracted.


You attacked on my home turf.


You let me escape ( considering I didn't even use burst run, or cloak ).



Regardless of the outcome, you have my respect. I forsee you ironing out the rough spots, and becoming


a BH of renown.

just keep pounding away! When I first started BHing, my combat rating dropped to about 1050, now I amup into the 1550s. And.... I am a badd a$$ duelist (still working on open pvp... difficult without any medic)


You will just have to keep fighting jedi until you get the hang of it. You have a good template. It is a Jedi killer for sure. It's just a matter of using it correctly, it is not an easy one to use. You'll need to know when to us TR, paralyze, flame dots, poisons, etc. etc.


Since you have the ability to do a lot of healing... you may want to drop the Pistol stuff and pick up Carbine 0400. You'll get a snare to slow the jedi down (not as good as a root, but it has a lower reuse timer), a second high damage shot with Improved Leg shot, and a crap load more accuracy for increasing your damage output with the Carbine.


As far as damage..... I'm MBH / MPist / Carb 0430 / FS.... and with all that ranged acc I still have a hard time getting a lot of damage out of my damage capped weapons. See, when a jedi has 350 some odd defense points over your accuracy, thanks to Aura (i believe) you will hit for min damage (times special move damage multiplier) every time.


Only way I can win fights is by constantly kiting a jedi. I use both ranged arms, a pistol, carbine, and even a rifle to stay as far away as I can, and the use of a KD, a Snare, and Root. Even with all that accuracy, I still ahve a problem getting snares and roots to stick. This would be even worse for you, since your root will probably rarely stick and when it does you'll only have a few seconds to take a good use of it (where as my MPist snare is longer duration).



So........


-Hunt

-Try MBH / MCM / Carb 0400

-Hunt some more

-read the forums

-Hunt again

-realize that you win fights by getting their mind or force to zero

-Hunt em down till they cry for mercy / payoff / nerf



Tip of the day..... be polite to jedi and only hunt opposite faction jedi and your life will be a lot easier.

The reason you have such a low damage output is because you have so little accuracy. A MCM / MBH SHOULDNT do the same damage as a MBH / MCB or MBH / MRM. You give up your damage output for better heals / debuffs.

^--(defenders; non-defenders have such a low ranged defence that you should be doing decent damage if you're using aim or accuracy food)
