lol, Sarcasm doesn't quite work in text, now does it. I was offering up a slight mockery of the original poster. Personally, I don't deal with cloak that often, so it doesn't pïss me off enough for me to care. But yeah, wow, no one picked up on the sarcasm. My bad.
Sorry, man. I missed the sarcasm tags.

Meh, it'll happen.
Every time I've encountered cloak it hasn't really been a problem. The only problem I have with it is when a bug like this pops up, making the power a problem.

Cloak should by no means make Jedi invisible... It just adds a new, and possibly exploitable weapon into their already overpowered arsenal. Cloak should only make them invisible on radar, not invisible from sight. But if it is to stay the way it is, it should eat up a CRAP load of force so it's only a defensive power used to escape and evade. And all combat and TEF's should disable cloak.
Translation: No worthwhile abilities in powers except choke, please.
area kd and area intim aren't worthwhile to you?

Not particularly. Especially given that I'm primarily PVE. Once you get the AE Intim and AE KD, you cannot do single targets anymore. This means you may end up agg'ing stuff you didn't really want to.

Only time I PVP is when a BH comes after me. But even then, if I'm out grinding a lair and a BH comes to collect the exp tax, popping intim or KD could have me not only fighting the BH, but the mobs I was grinding on.

isn't there a single tho too? or does it automatically make you do the area attack once you have access to it?

Yes there is a Single. However, just like Force Run, once you have the "upgrade" you simply cannot use the lesser version...single target KD and intim in this case.

that's what i figured, i don't get why they didn't think stuff like that out prior to implementing the combat upgrade.

My most forgiving guess is that they are limited in the number commands available per tree or some other silly excuse like pre-existing code that makes it impossible without a rewrite of the whole system.
I'm doubting it though.
My most realistic answer is laziness and/or a lack of forethought.

it would be useful for other people as well to be able to use their lower level attacks to conserve action/mind.

Today I took a jedi's mish. After tracking him down, I ran after him. After getting in combat, he cloaked, came after me, attacked me and stayed cloak. The only way I could target him was if he hit me first. It was very hard fighting him cloaked as I could not see where he was going. Thats not all im ticked about. After fighting, his force got low, then he got me in stasis, and safely regen his force.
PLEASE FIX THIS!
I have proof!
