Don't have it yet, but will get it before I get novice pistoleer. I am a TKA, and much of the time I am standing still, so there should be no 'running' issue for me.

I suppose the critique that you take one more shot as part of feign death is valid, but knowing that, a smart player would try to realize when they are in a FD situation sooner and FD with enough HAM to live through that shot.

My problem with burst run is it can get you into more trouble than it solves. At the moment I have master scouting, and just on a normal jog over the hills frequently I will see a nest, and then have the game insta-pop a ton of crap on me. Seems like there is a basic problem here with the game being slow on popping nests, and even though on the server there are mobs there on the nest, it hasn't updated your client on that fact yet, so they insta pop on your client when you are too close. This problem is even more acute when you are running at great speed. If the server takes way too long to update the client on mob locations, then if you are moving even faster, you will be even closer to them when your client updates. Sure you can run out of those too, but at some point you peter out and burst run ends, and that may be in the middle of insta-pop.

Now there are plenty of times when things just plain go wrong in PvE, and I could really use FD. Say I am within 64m of a nest, and I pop it with my blaster, and the game goes into its 'I won't tab over to the add no matter what you do to your keyboard' mode, and you continue to fire at that nest stirring up all sorts of adds. Having FD then would let you break out of this bad situation.

I have yet for feign death to work for me. The 3 times I've used it (2 duels with friends and 1 mob) I become incapp and when timer runs out, I still can't get up and end up logging out for 10mins to recover. Is this a common occurence?

"In any case, to each his own. Get off the idea that somehow you're an EQ monk and learn how a new skill works and maybe you'll enjoy it."

How can you tell someone, "to each thier own" and then tell them to "get off an idea" of thiers? Dolt. Anyhow, no EQ FD owned, SWG FD is no where near as utilitarian. For a skill that costs a ton, it should cost have more uses then to "save me a trip" from to the cloning station. Its not like CRs are hard or time consuming in this game. Compared to old school EQ, death is a joke here.

Death is a joke? Maybe right now it is, since auto-insure is on. But before that was activated I remember a particularly long CR on Naboo trying to get my corpse out of the deepest part of the Nargalacth cave, begging people to help me go in and get it. I carry alot of stuff on me, resources, armor, guns, etc - too much to insure. So, when you don't insure and you die in a tough spot, death is EXACTLY like it was in EQ. And I know I'm not the only one who doesn't insure regularly. Feign Death would have spared me the pain of that CR. I could have stood up, burstrun out and all would have been fixed. No FD=possible painful cr when auto insure goes away.

You have to hit the "stand up" button. Then you will stand up. Just don't stand up before the timer runs out, then your will be incapped for real.

the difference between feign death sucking and rocking (when you don't get the running bug) is dirty fighting 1 and dirty fighting 4. when you first get it, it does outright suck. at higher levels the hit isn't as hard. when i first got it is was like...this blows. now at master smuggler i actually use it quite frequently and don't get hit nearly as hard.

Not insuring your items is your own fault. Carrying to many items is your own fault. With the insure feature, even though you foolishly don't or didnt choose to excercise this ability, death is insignificant. Its purpose mainly is a cash sink. In anycase, yeah your CR was tough and FD might have saved you in that case, but if you would have insured it would have been a joke. Reguardless, the FD implementation could certainly stand some changes. If you think its great fine. I think its bad. If you can't get over that, oh well?

I use feign death constantly to get past mobs and npc's that would be impossible otherwise. Case in point: Dathomir. Burst run gets me killed more often than not. Feign death is extremely useful.

I'm trying to give this skill a fair chance, but so far, I'm less than impressed.

Most folks (myself included) assume this would be like EQ feign death. However, this skill does exactly what the description says. The target thinks you're dead.

It does NOT save you from getting incapped, unless you FD at near full health.

This is a deathblow save. Useful when fighting Imps/Rebs/Thugs or in PVP. Not much other use as far as I see.

If you are to FD after you bleedshot the MOB, will you loose considerable XP from the kill ifyou just watch it bleed to death?

Thanks for any insight...

I'm pretty sure that if you are FD when the mob dies from bleeding you get ZERO xp.
