Thread: THE REALITY OF THE BH / JEDI SYSTEM

This is all very sad really.
I dont doubt the fact that the odds are stacked in favor of the Jedi....always
Who said the odds are not in favor of the Jedi? They are supposed to be 1.5 stronger than you, and you are supposed to use your first strike ability wisely to overcome that gap. If you just run guns blazing towards a fully buffed Jedi who is waiting for you expect to die.

1.5 X = odds in favor of Jedi
Yes, thats what I just said. But it is nothing new and a well known fact and it is _by design_. Jedi are stronger, but you get first strike. If you dont use your first strike to your advantage, its your own fault.
The vast majority of players feel as I do...This system is not balanced.
No one I no goes in "gunz-a-blazzzin" as you put it. The simple fact is, this is a Jedi game now. Now we must deal with it.

okay kinetic pistol max 1000 min 567 ..speed 1.21 action cost 65. Melee defence 265.. pistol accuracy from m pistoleer and m bh with + 15 in accuracy mods ..you work it out im not on game to add it up. Jedi has melee accuracy 285 ish and about 260 ranged ..like i said not in game he told me this few days ago. This is nothing more than a jedi with a full temp and no exploited ls or mods. Those are the facts and i expect jedi to argue this because they want to be doing 2k damage.
For the record, I think Lightsaber damage is just fine for the average saber you find out there, and I'd not ask for it to be increased.
Eskie has already done a pretty good job summarizing above how defenses and accuracy work. Suffice it to say that there are 3 big stages that go on when you hit someone, and 2 of em rely heavily on comparing attacker's accuracy to defender's defense. The first is the chance to hit or miss, and the second is how much damage is dealt by the hit in the case of a hit (3rd, incidentally, is how much damage was absorbed by armor). With the Jedi's big def advantage over your accuracy (likely 700 or so def to your mid-high 200 accuracy), its no wonder you weren't hitting him for much. We'd be better served seeing the numbers from your Verbose Combat chat, tho, and your stated 225 max still seems a bit low if the Jedi was not a Master Defender, and not using dmg reduction foods. What specials did you use for that 225? Adv Crit? Imprvd Body?
As for the Jedi's mods, well, either he lied to you about his accuracy, or you aren't remembering correctly. In order to get up to 260 ranged accuracy, the Jedi would have to either be a Master Powers user with +45 in general ranged and force accuracy SEAs, or have downed a Deuterium Pyro (which, by the way, doesn't work unless you use a workaround most folks don't know). This is relatively unimportant, tho, as the Jedi in your encounter seemed to be using a saber exclusively, so his ranged accuracy would never be a factor (even saber throw is considered a melee attack).
But again, what tactics did you try to use in this fight? Did you use Warning shot? Intimidate shot? Disarming shot? Quickdraw?

No, its not balanced. MBH is not really on an even playing field with Jedi (tho the gap between them argueably smaller than its ever been). What's your point? That you think an MBH should be equal in skill to a full templte Jedi?

No. A duel BH against Jedi is not balanced, the Jedi has an advantage. But bounty hunting is not about duels, it is about stalking and choosing the right time to attack. If you catch a Jedi with 500 Force left or with just 500 health left or tanking 5 lvl 80 critters the odds of you winning will be higher than the odds of you losing.
To make it clear: A duel of BH against Jedi is not supposed to be balanced, a BH attack is more than balanced currently if the BH knows what he is doing.
Look...
you know the stalkers died when they killed the Terms...all my intel work-ups are trash now. All am now is a glorified waypoint chaser.
I have only started mbh four days ago so this is from a nuub hunter. I was in the trails last night and attacked a jedi. He must have been master defender cause i couldnt even scratch him. I have a laser rifle with 1148 max damage and had no chance. The other guys who were not afk just paid me to leave after like 15 min of me shooting till i was out of action lol. Dont get me wrong I have killed like 12 jedi and died like 30 times. So I know it can be done but last night was out of hand. The dudes macro beet me lol.

Huh? Whats this?
You are supposed to start stalking _after_ you got the mission, not getting a Jedis location and then grabbing his mission.
Waiting in a starport for Jedi to load in and duel each other is not stalking. Stalking is getting the mission, locating the Jedi, watching him, trying to find out his skills, and then choose an attack strategy based on the information you gathered.

Actually that Jedis macros beat your min damage. With 1148 max you probably only have around 500 min damage on your rifle. 700 / 1000 is far better against any Defender with the xx4x line (Force Aura) than 500 / 1200.
I agree wholeheartedly with this. the last 3 BH that came for me could easily won the engagement if they had done that.

well for tactics...its was a duel in the sense a jedi stood and let me shoot at them for 10 minutes using critical shot and various other specials...then him running about....then me running about and in a controlled situation thats the damage. You cant really get any better than a jedi just standing there getting shot.
