Thread: Aug 6th hotfix = end of Rryatt trails (part 2 of Pub 21)?
Maybe it's too complicated for you. But if there are 50 players on one spot it is considered as a large group of 50, since noone outside can see who is actually grouped with whom. Oh, and if you refer to a single group limit of only 8. It was'nt always the case as you say.

makes missions a mess again now. On eclipse they are always on the same spot
I was thinking the same thing. I rather liked the consolidation. Less running was involved.
The good thing with the huge jedi groups on the same spot is that none of them can see who im fireing on. If he is AFK they cant alert him with tells and often they can see themselves im attacking them until its too late ![]()
Still dont really understand why they keep bothering with grouping there, since its like shooting fish in a bowl killing them?
Why not grind solo, undetected in the wilderness? That way they will not end up on the terms.
Guess they are all too lazy and unpatiant to grind it the way its supposed to. Not good jedi material there....

While I personally don't agree with it (anymore than I agreed with the Geno Cave farming, which the top-level was all non-Jedi), I understand why.
Grinding alone takes away from your XP. You get a bonus that goes up the larger the group. This should be the one class that is exempt from that rule due to their "place in the universe". Say thanks to the devs for making group grinding a near requirement. Welcome to Star Wars EQ...
Oops forgot to add about previous classes using their bugs/"mechanics" to grind or kill things, the latest of which is the infamous ranged arms that allow someone to take down a turret w/o getting shot.

Becauseit would take about 7 years to get a complete template grinding solo. Solo play for exp has effectively been removed from the game by the CU for every combat profession. Solo grinding in the wilderness is what a lot of Jedi, including myself, did pre-CU. I could pull 275k per buff set solo pre-CU. Post-CU I was lucky to get 30k in the same timeframe.
Hmm, launch day player (or more appropriately, attempted to play launch day
) and have one slight problem w/ your statement.
First make every tree you have Combat XP, lower yourself to CL31, and make the trees cost 20k (novices), 200k, 400k, 800k, 1.6M, and 3.2M.
Now start swinging the only weapon you get XP with at 3 seconds per, causing less than 75 damage, oh and to really make it fun, no armor, just pajamas.
Big difference from a regular combat class ![]()

I reground out BH from a different template post CU, I got experience just fine. Did it all by my onesy too, don't blanket term everyone here...I could regrind any profession just like I did BH. Will it take a day of hard grinding like pre cu, no, but gimme a week and it will be done. Sadly easy has become the catch phrase for this game. I remember the first time I mastered fencer, before buffs and bikes and mounts. It took me a month doing it solo, but when I got there, boy did I feel like I'd accomplished a huge goal, that's what they call in the business "rewarding". Sadly this game and a lot of its players have no idea about that kind of thing.

Hotfix Patch
Seems that there will not be a huge 50 person group grinding down there anymore (at least at the huge Feral Wookie spawn). Plus, the AFKers will be most assuredly killed (I hope) if tried in a group of 8 using their weakest attacks every 5 seconds.
Thoughts?

Was kinda helpful though - I was doing my Rryatt Trail Katarn quest and needed to kill 24 feral wookiees. Instead of having to compete over the looting rights with the group there to get my kill credit, I just used fan shot on the wookiees the group was hammering on.
