Thread: The New Loot and You...

Okay....let me get back to what I was talkin' about.
Let's all agree on a couple of things.
1. Content is GOOD !
2. Yes, this is the same content we've had in the past, but now it's more enjoyable, and it's worth something.
Those are the two things I think we'd all agree on. I do agree that this will devalue some of the rarer things out there as well. How much, that remains to be seen, it could be alot, it could bea little. From a MBH/MS, I enjoy having parts to use again to slice. In uncrating 1000 WUK's and AUK's, I got 2 Illegal Core Boosters, today, in 3 missions, I got 3. So I'll be slicing again, which is a good thing.
My originalpoint though, each NPC you hunt, is one less Jedi Mission that you try. It's obvious that this helps Jedi somewhat, so the question remains, how many are going to be doing more NPC's than Jedi now ? For example, if you did 20 Jedi hunts a week in the past, and you still do 20 hunts now, how many will be Jedi, and how many NPC's ? I'm not saying any answer is bad, I'm just curious how much benefit all this nice loot will have, in, perhaps an inadvertent way for Jedi.

I will go and do NPCs mark only for a few weeks. Why? They are always on line. They will not hide in their house. They will no cloak when you get close to them and they will not use the exploit of Server boundries and opening up their light sabers and reequiping their crystals to make uber weapons.
OOOOh and instead of the 225k credit for killing a player I can now get about 2 million in loot per kill.
You do the math
you most definitely will NOT get 2 million credits for any loot these guys drop. too many hunters are farming them, and the marks are way too easy to kill. the market will become oversaturated with BH loot, thus the value of ALL loot will decline.

I agree the loot *may* need to be toned down a touch (3-4 items dropping for 1 kill seems excessive), but more of this type of loot will be GOOD in the long run as the over-inflated economies of most servers may stabilize in terms of item prices.

Maybe the economy NEEDS a bit of saturation seeing as how insanely high some prices can get?

Agree with that too, but my opinion is skewed because I'm a Master Smuggler as well.
1000 WUK's and AUK's and 2 Illegal Core Boosters, and today 3 missions and 3 Illegal Core Boosters.
Looks like once again I can start doing some slicing, which is good.
what they need to do is allow for moderation. allow enough loot to begin to bring prices down, while inserting some money sinks to drain the credits from the system.
that will really help balance the economy. maybe that way, we might start seeing 1,000,000 for 7000 armor, instead of 3.5 million.

I totally disagree with you. There are jedi camping AKUNAS and there are known Chinese and Korean companies that have one purpose, camp loot spawns and sell ingame for credits and also real world cash.
Now there is just another avenue. There have been exploits and credit duping going on for 2 years and guess what, the economy has not changed all that much. There were +25 SEAs dropping off of Dark Jedi Masters and skill tapes did not plumet in price they stayed the same.

3.5 mill for 7k armor? You're obviously not on Bria! =]
New money sinks would be nice, though.

It's a amazing all the broad, sweeping generalizations that are made on these boards. First, not EVERYONE will be farming NPC bounties. Only MBH greater than level 75 even have access to the content. That's not EVERYONE as several posters have said. So stop blowing things out of proportion. Well, I never said everyone, I was asking originally who'd be doing NPC's vs. Jedi. Since you have to be a MBH to hunt jedi, and to get these boss mob's, I was directing it at the right folks.
Even to put together a full suit of bounty hunter armor is going to take WORK, timeand credits. Then, to put together another set of armor to sell? Even more work, time and credits. Not counting duplication of pieces and such. Sure, there will be trading and stuff, but that's what makes the market and the game interesting. Not to mention that bounty hunter armor isn't the best for hunting Jedi, so other than trophy armor. Why the huge fuss? Not going to take near as much time as you'd think. I'd be willing to wager that within 20-25 hunts you'd be pretty close to a full suit of schematics, or have a few duplicates you could trade. Since the schematics are limited use, you'd do alright with an armorsmith, as they can sell a few, for each full set you'd give them, and they'd make for you.
While hunting with my guild, I can grab 2 to 3AAs orCAsin an hour or so, depending on the rate we kill stuff and what we hunt. I have yet to see a report in any of these boards about a bounty hunter looting skill tapes any faster than that. Can they loot that many, sure, a TON more...I don't think so by the vary design of how our bounty missions are set up.
I like the fact that smugglers have another outlet through which to get their higher-end slicing components. Not that we should corner the market, but it will make things a bit easier on slicers to know their loot is out there. It is a great thing, it gives us a chance to slice again, and that's a benefit for everyone. I've got the smuggler as well as BH, so I'm in heaven right now, I can start openly slicing, and making some coin doing that !

LT-HAYWOOD.
P.S. I SEE IT NOW. "TH - THIS IS A GAME BREAKING EXPLOIT"
Two very different things...
With these, and I'm using an example, yesterday there were 100 Illegal Core Boosters, around, so they had plenty of value. With the drop rates we are seeing, by Monday there could be 2500 with as many as people are getting because most MBH's are doing just that...killing NPC's now, and not Jedi.
Yesterday on my server, a core booster was going for 1 million min, with a 6 million Buyout. Come Monday, with this kind of access, I'd wager you'd see 'em at 100k, with a 500k buyout. Is it more than one Jedi ? Absolutely, but it's not even close to current pricing.
For the slicing stuff, I hope it goes down further, so smugglers can be doing something more than we are right now, for the other stuff...I dont know....
It's content, and when you get content you don't complain about it....ESPECIALLY when it is something everyone has been wanting for a long time:
Bounty Hunter armor. Maybe those Mando components people have been saving will come into play.
As a Jedi, and ex-BH this won't stop people who want to kill Jedi...they will continue to do that. What it has done is add something for the BH's who never enjoyed Jedi hunting and wanted something new...
it might not be the gold at the end of the rainbow but it is a good start.
