Jedi is THE big selling point for this game...just look at the commercials. The Jedi profession is what is bringing in money for SOE.
When SOE implmented the mass Jedi influx the excuse was that "fun was more important over continuity."
So is it really that much of a stretch to beleive " money is more important thatn fun"?
For those of you who are long time, tried and true Jedi Hunters...this sux.
Like the original poster is communicating, I didnt become a BH to be a loot farmer. I joined this game to be a BH and to be a Jedi Hunter. Not to be a junk dealer. There are many out there that would like to make their living hunting Jedi instead of being a professional looter to support a HOBBY (Jedi Hunting) I dont expect to get rich but I would like to make enough to support my equipment and supply usage without having to scavange.
Im not against the new loot at all, but what makes me angry is that SOE is trying to nueter us because its good for business.
I gotta echo Blix and ask why everything has to be a conspiracy theory? Maybe he was telling the truth? Maybe someone at SOE is finally listening to us, and playing the game, and seeing how badly things sucked before (from a PvE standpoint) and doing something about it?
Besides, like many others have said in this thread before, no one needs to take these NPC missions. If you wanna keep hunting Jedi, you go right ahead and do that. I for one am happy about the new loot drops because I might finally be able to get myself set up to the point where I actually can go out and hunt Jedi effectively instead of having my behind handed to me on a silver platter in 45 seconds b/c I didn't have a suit of armor full of +15 ranged acc. and +19 melee def. AAs.
I don't think they're doing this specifically to protect Jedi. I don't think that was even a part of the original reasoning behind this. It may be a side-effect, but one that is entirely dependent on the voluntary choices made by BHs.

Although I don't mind the extra content of npc missions. Nice to have another option .... How can you say SOE does not 'protect' jedi? It is obvious throughout all their game commercials Jedi are being marketed like prostitutes for SOE. They have removed Sabre Tef, XP loss on npc death, Perma Death removed, Skill box loss removed, allowed AFK grind on Ryatt trails for the longest time, own unique Village missions, own unique trials.. etc etc.
Jedi are the most self sufficient profession in game with the most perks. Anyone who denies this are kidding themselves.
i am glad to get loot on every mark even if it is junk. it is alot better than nothing. which if you hunted marks before is what you got.
Oh, I'm not denying that SOE is protecting Jedi. I just don't think that this particular move - the better BH missions and loot drops - was designed specifically to protect Jedi. The lack of BHs going after Jedi while they farm loot certainly is a side effect, but I don't think someone at SOE said "Hey! If we give BHs better missions and loot, they'll leave the poor, downtrodden Jedi alone."

Not only that, but in choosing to exercise that choice, you can get gear to help you...........kill Jedi.
But some people would rather wear tinfoil on their heads.

Why don't people see this? Hey folks, we're getting a lot of cool stuff here that might make us more effective when we do chose to hunt Jedi...
If anyone out there doesn't want the stuff they loot because they think it's destroying the BH profession or taking them away from hunting Jedi, I'll be happy to take it off your hands... or trade you some tin foil for it.
