Thread: Is there any way to break force cloak

IMO cloak should be made so that it cannot be used within a set time period after combat ends, say 1 min or 2.5 min....it's a great Idea if implemented that way, however, the current defensive use of cloak has no counter...and is a tad unbalanced as far as I'm concerned.

for the moron that suggested a bomb droid, 1 phrase for you FR2 and cloak ftw. I stay cloaked all day long just to make the bh's mad, they drop the mission or wait it out, I'll go back to my PA and stay cloaked for the next 3 days, I have multiple accounts so it's not bothering me the slightest bit to stand there for 3 days.

Does your mommy know that you're running up the electricity bill just so you can stay cloaked to PO bounty hunters?

When they do this, you leave.... for now. They've just told you 2 things about their template: Master Enhancer & x4xx Powers. With those skills they:
A) Have good (not great)offense through Powers or less likely Sabers, but have little or no Defender
B) haveDefender and almost no offensive skills to speak of.C) Spread the rest of their points out in aweak attempt to make their Jedi useable for something other than pissing you off playing cloak tag.
Having Master Enhancer & Cloak is a huge investment, 120of their 226available skill points.That almost assures you that your either dealing with a MPowers/MEnhancer template with healing filling out their secondary skills, a no offense support template, or some broken thing that's built to tweek the BHs that come to call.
Just walk away for now, and come calling again later. Catch him with his force shield down, andyou can either kill him with an Alpha Strike or get within his cloak range, root him, and eat your lunch. If you can't find him with his shield down, watch for him to channel. This tempolate is very force intensive, so he'll need to regen that force quickly at times. After channeling for a good while, you may catch him with his max health well below 1500... Down where you can one shot him if you can get the shot.
The last possibility is that they're an oddballhybrid. There are just enough skill points left over for them to have a single elite mastery. This one might be dangerous if your not prepared... They'll have their elite skills backed up by Force Speed, Force Shield, and your favorite Stasis/Cloak combo. They're weakness will be that they can't have any healing at all.

Come on guys, people who cloak all the time and stasis are in no way FOTM templates. Cloak is their primary weapon, let them use it.

ok doesnt work for menhance...ive only tried it once and it worked like a charm
EDIT also a menhance with cloak isnt a very likely template. with that they'd need to be mpowers as well, that or sacrifice some healing or lightsaber skills.

Call some of your guildies over to hang out with you so the force drains too much. At that point, if the Jedi is dumb enough to hang out there, you will own him/her.

All these responses are good. But they are only talking about Cloak in BH/Jedi situations. What about in general PvP with non Jedi/BH? Like the GCW? Having the ability to to get right next to a target and attack without ever being detected is a HUGE advantage. No other profession hassuch a hugeadvantage. Even Riflemans Cover breaks if another player gets too close. Plus Riflemans Cover requiers you to be prone and move very slowly compared to a Cloaked Jedi with FR.
Cloak my be acceptable in a BH/Jedi situation, but in general PvP like the GCW, it is extremely unbalancing.

Channeling like that severely lowers my health. Most of the time I am well under 1k health, sometimes as low as 300. Area attack one of those npc mobs walkin around, and I'm down and out of it.
Also of course, I'm not talkin 30 people directly next to me, meant in the MO in general. Think the cloak tick range to effect force used is 20m as well, used the 30 people example to give an idea of the traffic that goes through and inadverntly walks/drives next to me costing me force... God, if 30 people were right next to me I don't think my force would last even a minute even with channels from hell

Okay, but you also said you can hang around 4 guildies with barely any drain.
How can a solo hunter be expected to drain you out of cloak when 4 people can't?
