Thread: Why should I go carbines rather than rifles or pistol?
Pistols for me.
A lot of people pick up some pistols for the root which I'll admit is very very handy! However pistols have a lot of other great attacks like Intimidate, Stun, Warning Shot, Blind and Disarming shot. It really is the best profession for wearing down your opponent and reducing their effectiveness. Youalso the best defence of all 3 professions too. Only downside is the short range, which can be used to your advantage. If a Jedi is hitting you, he's using his force. When all his force is gone, he'll channel his Mind/Action. With no mind, he cannot heal and it's payday for you! that's the way I look at it! Or you could get a ranged arm.
Carbines, for me, lacks anything special to make it stand out as you get a KD with BH anyway and Firearm strike too. Rifles are nice for the damage but I think they're very one dimensional in that respect and dont have a great deal else to offer that you cannot get from Pistols or Carbines.
Horses for courses though. That's what I always say! 
Yup they need to fix Adv Rapid Fire ...then carb would compare to rifleman....atm rifleman is the best choice (though im mcarb/mbh cm 4000....
