Can A BH send the Jedi mark a duel request?

How about adding them to your ignore list before you get in range - would that make them still attackable, but at the same time somehow block the duel request??

ive never used this cheap tactic, seems I can tell 9 out of 10 people that are there for me. Maybe cause im hiding out in the middle of nowhere usualy. (If the BH beats me they better be ready for a long drive to the shuttle hehe)

"You cannot challenge (BH NAME HERE) to a duel because he can attack you."

or something along that effect.

Actually, for the Jedi, the duel option still exists in the radial menu. If you try to use it, you get a system message saying that you cannot duel this person because they are able to attack you.

I used it the other day. A friend of mine and I were doing the Melee Accuracy quest, about to start and a BH rolls up. We politely say that we'd love to have fun with him, but we're kinda busy could he please wait. The BH isn't too interested.

My friend assumes the BH is there for him and offers to pay his bounty. The BH then proceeds to try to convince us thatmy friend is worth 500k on the terms. I guess he figures that Jedi never do any research about how BH really works. Anyway, he's annoying us, and I notice he keeps looking at me. I tell my friend to just kill him, but he still wants to negotiate. I tell my friend (in spatial) that after he gives the cash that he should /duel to make sure that the BH dropped the mission, and I'm going to do the same, to make sure that he's not trying to extort the wrong person. I wait 5 secs and /duel. Wow, looks like this schmuck is after me (btw my friend had not paid him). Meanwhile the BH is trying to tellme that the /duel trick doesn't work. Again see my previous point about research. I tell the guy that he's pissed me off enough that I'm just gonna fight him, he needs to earn these credits if he wants them. He begs for the cash while I take my food and tell him to just get on with it. He attacks. Funniest part is,he had me. I ran outof force and had to pull my trandoshan rifle out, when I did that, he ran. I couldn't stoplaughing.

Anyway, in these circumstances, I don'tfeel I exploited in the slightest. I warned the guy I was gonna do it, gave him enough time to attack after the warning and he just persisted in trying to lie about it.My only regret is that his body kept sliding away when I got a KD otherwise it would have been a DB insteadof him running.

Just a quick question: Why do Jedi use "/duel" to see if a BH has their mission?

I guess abetter question would be; What message do you get back when you "/duel" a BH who has your mission?

Is this not the BH Forums?

Pepto_kof wrote: if the BH has your mission it will say something like you cant duel them since they have tef on you.

What does it say when you "/duel" a BH who has your mission? (Perhaps I'll ask on the Jedi forums)

TheMadCoder wrote: He did

Thanks Mad, I was going to indicate the same.

Perhaps he ment to put it on the Jedi forums. I say the Jedi and BH Forums are interchangable (the same people complain and flame on both)

Nathanielstarr wrote: All they have to do is check the radial and see if the duel option is there.

So, if I have a mission and my mark opens my radial menu he does not see a duel option? Then why not use the menu? Why use "/duel"?

Now I'm even more curious. What does it do?

well I thought they didn't have the option but apparently it says "this person can already attack you" so they know you are after them

Back in the day Bh's used to *gasp* exploit jedi by running up to them with their misison and dueling them, then starting their attack. This gave the bh a huge advantage as the jedi had to accept the duel to do damage back to the bh and then the bh would just duel again. So it was Bounty hunters that caused the devs to change the system so you cant duel someone who has a tef on you.

I used to love it when I'd show up at a grinding group on Kashyyyk to get AFK names & every Jedi that wasn't would run to the bridge & send stupid tells. Now if I do the same while having a mission, everybody Duels me & then the Jedi I got a bounty on rins to the bridge while the rest keep on grinding Wooks. C'mon, run away from me you Sucka Jedi!
