After a bit of testing i have figured out something about npc marks.. if your first waypoint on the planet is in a NCP city.. mark starts his run from a city then the seeker droids will continue to update his location in the city his waypoint will not move you have to wait for the seeker to loose your target then send up the probot then his waypoint will move.. also after the first post i made about a lvl 85 25k health mark all my marks have been lvl 82 with 7 - 8 k ham wich is a lot more resonable they put up a fight and spam specials like crazy but they arnt elite mob hard. Also the marks dont have much flavor all 10 of mine have used carbines, but they still hit at over 40 meter range. the wp not movin only happens when the mark starts by the city at least the 5 of mine that started ina town didnt work right not sure if this is a old problem as i usualy dont have marks start in a town.

Profession: Bounty Hunter

  • NPC Bounty missions will now work properly. The Mark will be of appropriate difficulty based on the difficulty of the mission

  • Moved Player Bounty Hunting to the Master Bounty Hunter skill Box

  • Jedi missions are only created for online Jedi, the Jedi may go offline after the mission is created

  • Jedi missions display Faction instead of Jedi name

  • Jedi missions all display a payout of a random number between 45000 - 52000 credits on the terminal but may pay a bonus amount based on level and time since the Jedi was last killed

  • Seeker droids will now return the name of the Target You have to use Seek option for the name to be returned.

  • Changed the name of the "imperial probot base" Bounty Hunter droid to “Imperial probot”

Please provide feedback on missions, including your success or failure, number of missions on Kashyyyk, your template. On successful missions include the final payment amount for Jedi missions.

If there is a bug post it on the Pub. 20 bug thread that is started by Tiggs, and /bug it in game.

Thanks.

My Feedback:

  1. A mission on a high level Jedi is a no-win situation for anyBounty Hunter.

    • In the current system, a MBH rarely has enough tricks and Modified DPS to take on a fully-templated Jedi.

    • There is no help from other BHs with a fully-templated Jedi.

    • Getting a Mission on a Jedi is to much hassel now with the current BH Terminal Setup.

  2. Rewards for the death/griefing of a Jedi player went down -- it's not worth the troubles.

    • 225,000 credits and 55,000 credits roughly is a big difference

    • Bonus may increase the credits, but will it even peak pass 225,000 credits -- that's the big question???

  3. Seeker Droid with the name of the Jedi, it doesn't work properly when you use that function.

    • I used it accouple of times and it didn't show the mark's name

  4. Hunting on Kashyyk is basically a waste of a BH's time

    • What's the point in going toKashwhen everybody knowsit's ever Jedis' hide-away from the hired hit-men.

I am continually getting "your target is not online" messages after I use the seek option on my droid. I thought that offline jedi were not supposed to have their missions on the BH terms. Am I doing something wrong?

Also not getting any names. None. And I used the seek option.

Is it confirmed that the offline jedi missions don't seem to be getting cleared is infact a bug or is this working as intended?

It was 14 offline missions in a row for me today got slightly bored with that soI'm really hoping this will be acknoledged as an issue and fixed in Pub 21.

Missions work fine and "as intended"
Tracked an anonymous rebel jedi to tatooine hunting krayts. Found that he was a padawan, I still lost.

I am MBH - M Carbineer - 4000 Combat Medic.

In my experience, 75% of the bounties I have taken post CUhave been on kashyyyk. Of course, those are the jedi that are not complete templates, andstill have to get their experience...

The other 25% of the bounties are full templates, and are sitting around on miscellaneous planets, waiting for us to come shoot them so they candestroy us 1v1. ( FRS not far off now eh tanks? )

So the bottom line is,if you aren't a MBH- M rifleman with root, I don't see how it is possible to solo a full template by yourself, since most of the time, those are the only jedi that areattackable thanks to Kashyyyk.Even if you grab your anonymous bounty that isn't afk in a house, or on kash, you can make a safe bet they are a full template, that can not be killed by a MBH. They will just FR3 away, cloak, run into a house, or they are a Mdefender.

So somebody tell me the reason for having player bounties in this game now, except for us being the future FRS fodder for the jedi knights?

Message Edited by instapeace on 07-19-200511:35 AM

EXACTLY my point. I show up to full temp jedi, apply debuffs, fire, jedi about to die or close to, fr2, run around the house until timer is done, go in get rebuffed, regen force come out and lay it into me fresh.

WHAT IS THE POINT now?

this is just idiotic.

i cancelled my subscription once about 5-6 mo pre-cu. cu brought me back, now it's being molded into something that isn't fun.

guess i can always cancel again.

I'm currently going for my AA in Information Systems. I'd like to learn a bit about coding and what goes into it before I jump in here, for example, and start typing accusations in caps at the devs for being lazy. Also, an AA could mean better money for me. Anyway, one of the courses I have to take is Marketing. (Don't ask me what it has to do with Information systems--apparently nothing, but I do need my "general education" credits). For someone like me, who plays this game so much, it's hard not to think about SWG examples and parallels when I'm studying and something occurred to me the other day:

It's been mentioned before that most of the marketing of this game is geared towards the jedi players. I look back on my 15 months of experiences in this game and I'd have to agree that this is likely the case--especially where fixing problems is concerned. For example, how long did it take the devs to figure out how to nullify the /logout bug? From my recollection, it was about two and a half months. The LOS bug on the Ryatt Trail remains, and will likely remain for a while. The broken TEF system which allowed jedi to run into player structures after being engaged in a fight (one of my favorites) seems to also remain an unresolved issue. Meanwhile, other bugs seem to be fixxed very quickly in relation to those that help or enable jedi. (I'm trying desperately to remember one right now to help solidify my case, but they all come and go so quickly...)

Julio Torres told us, in plain English, that there are no plans to change the way droids work on Kashyyk because they felt that a large part of the player base (padawans) really needed an area in which to obtain experience in relative safety. What I truly don't understand is, "Why?" I could go on about how angry it makes me to hear someone on the dev team come out and openly admit that there is a conscious effort being made on their parts to hold jedi's hands through their "grind", but then I'd be here, typing for the next several hours, I'm sure. Jedi aren't supposed to be here, in this timeframe, anyway. I mean, it's just this side of ridiculous to have armies of jedi in the game in the first place. What's next? Cylons? A Federation "Galaxy Class" starship hanging out, next to the Star Destroyer in Deep Space? Yes, those are extreme examples, but if you think about it, it makes just about as much sense to have groups of Jedi hanging out in Theed, MO, Coronet, Kashyyk, or wherever. By now, we've all seen what happened to the Jedi. Part of what made "Star Wars" cool was the introduction of "The Force". Rember that? Remember--Luke-freakin'-Skywalker didn't even know what the Force was when Obi-wan told him about it!

Anyway, I'm getting off-track. Back to marketing. Many of us remember paying $60 for "An Empire Divided". When "Jump to Lightspeed" came out, it cost me $25, and it was an expansion! Now "The Total Experience" is being offered for $30? Doesn't say much for Sony's development team. And it's not like Sony to hold on to a division whose market share falls so drastically over such a short time. My point here is that if the marketing were done correctly, "The Total Experience" should be garnering more like $100 at this point--especially since Episode III just came out! The effort that they are making is evident: It's only recently that we've begun to see T.V. commercials, and that kind of advertising is not doing it for them. Ask anyone who knows anything about how to sell a product and they'll tell you--word of mouth advertising is the most effective type, by far.

They've got thousands of people playing this game now. And it's pretty obvious that these people are passing along the word about this game... only it's not positive comments that they have to offer. I'll just bet that anyone who had a dancer toon before CU sure isn't saying good things about this game now. The same can be said of just about everyone else. I don't imagine that there are many players with smuggler toons who would classify themselves as "satisfied customers". What does aDroid Engineer do for fun these days? How many full-time droid engineers are there that are primary characters and not Jedi alts? I know that many bounty hunters are no longer happy, either. I'd imagine that even jedi players have a hard time coming up with good things to say about this game at this point.

You know, back in the 1940's most companies ran from a "production" marketing standpoint; That is, they made what they wanted to make and then did what they could to find customers to fit their needs in order to remain profitable. Henry Ford is quoted as saying that people buying a Model "T" could have their car in any color they liked... as long as it was black. Nowadays, profitable companies understand that the key to their success is in building relationships with their customers and doing what they can to make them happy. "Star Wars Galaxies" is a TERRIFIC idea! When I was reading the box in Best Buy, I remember thinking "I could really get into a lot of trouble, playing this... it sounds very addictive." The part that I liked most is that we were told we could be any profession we wanted to be--Tailor, Droid Engineer, Smuggler, Bounty Hunter, etc... I'm starting to think that what the box should have said was "You can be any profession you'd like to be... as long it's a Jedi."

SOE devs, do everyone a favor, please; stop trying to force everyone into a position where we need to be a jedi in order to have any fun or to get anything out of this game. I understand that it's difficult to keep a wide variety of people happy and to give everyone what they want. The answer is not to funnel us all into Jedi while weeding out the stubborn ones who just won't give in so that you will only have one type of player to contend with. Your market share is proof of that. Stop taking the technology you have in your possession for granted. I'm sure that Wal-Mart, Ford, Southwest Airlines, Cingular... the Vice Presidents in Charge of Marketing at any of those firms would give their right arm to have an active forum such as the one here! We're talking to you! We're telling you what isn't satisfying us, what you could do to improve customer satisfaction and what we'd like to see in the future! You're just not listening, and that's just silly. If you took the time to read these forums and act upon what your customers want, you'd be selling this game for at least twice as much as you are now, and you'd be growing your customer base every day!

Why are we so vocal? Why do we care so much? In most situations, if a customer is unhappy with the service they received from one company, they'll simply take their business elsewhere the next time that they are ready to purchase. In this case, I simply can't do that. There are other MMORPGs out there, but none of them is "Star Wars" and none of them have the potential to be what this game could be if you stopped trying to simplify things for yourselves and started listening to us! I admit it--I'm hooked. I'm an unsatisfied customer at this point, yet I'm stuck, aren't I? I keep holding out for the next publish to see if it's any better. What I keep getting instead is nerfing and they enjoyability of my gameplay taken away from me piece by piece. I'm a patient man--just ask any of the players whose Jedi's missions I've held for days on end, waiting in the vendor tent between their house and the nearest shuttleport. But even my patience has limits. We havea correspondent for a reason! Tanks, speak up, wouldja? Tell us we're barking up the wrong tree. Tell us that there was a mistake and that it IS being checked into, at least. Tell us that the devs truly have a grasp of the B.S. that is going on right now and that there is light at the end of the tunnel. In short, give us something!

You can run...
But you'll only die tired.

I'm not going to get involved in any discussions. Just the facts:

15 missions taken

12 offline

1 on Kashyyyk. (I dropped mission because of real-life time issues)

1 on Naboo (killed him, 226k)

1 on Dathomir (I had to log before I could track him)

The 226k kill was typical of my kills; he was overt and I waited until he was "occupied" to move in. Still, it was a 10-minute fight which I was glad to win because my template is not complete (MBH / Carbs 0404 / CM 4304)

I almost left this game after cu because I had no interest in becoming a jedi and the one thing I did primarliy was pve with master swords. I loved killing the acklay and hunting krayts and elders. When I logged on to chk out the cu I realized swordsman was worthless and so were the all the items I had acquired for it. So I was going to quit when i thought wth Ill try mbh. MBH was the funnest thing I could do in this game. I started off with low level paddies just to get the tactics down. Then I got better gear and started trying the higher missions. I managed to kill a couple of 150k and highers with mbh mpistols and some carbine. I really enjoyed the fact that I could pick who I wanted to hunt or just pick according to their level. I never hunted a jedi twice unless after dbing him he would send me hate tells. Well I do enjoy the idea of being able to see what jedi are online and what faction they are now, it doesnt seem to be that easy. I just grabbed 12 missions in a row that were all offline. Then I got an old school 226k jedi who powned me in about 40 secs. This new system is terrible. What was the point of it? It takes out any kind of player content from bh. For instance I am in an all rebel mostly jedi guild. We found out one our jedi went imperial and begin bashing us. I wanted nothing more than to pull his mission and make him regret his words. What are my chances of getting his mission now? 1/1000? Well needless to say I used my token respec to become a melee tank so that I cap 3 diff weapon types in one session before wasting 15 minutes driving to the village and back. The reason I loved being a mbh in the first place was to have some nice 1v1 pvp with someone else with my skill level. Well apparently the only thing this game cares about is jedi. I guess I will have to finish my fs grind and join the uncountable number of jedi on my server. Where I can then go overt and get ganked or gank all day with the other jedi. Yeah! Wont that be fun! Just an example of the ridicuilousness of all this is that my guild has over 60 jedi in it. We even have one player who finished one Jedi and used his free unlock and now has a jedi with that character. Maybe when the new players create there toons jedi will be an option along with marksman and brawler! SOE ROCKS!

This game has two things that shouldn't exist in a MMOG; an alpha class and forced pvp, the devs are merely phasing both out.

That's what I think anyway.

Oh, and if you think MBH is weak... lol... you got a surprise coming, buddy. Smuggler is worse.

4 missions today 1 offline when I went to send my droid out. 2,3,4 all were online tracked them down to the planets they were on. Sent out seeker droids first to track then a second to seek. Never recieved a name for any of my marks. Also while tracking all the waypoints led to their homes, yet I could not target them nor see them on radar yet my droid's waypoints were all saying they were in their homes. Every mission was a failure and aborted.

Well.. I'm 10 for 10 on Kashyyk.

That is, 10 of my missions were on Kashyyk and thus none of them were hunted.

But that's ok, I've found a solution.

One day, the pvp element of Galaxies will rise again. And I will be there, pwning you imperials with my peashooter of doom. Until then, I'm making friends with crafters.
