I went on my usual killing spree, with the occasional Master Defender drawn out battle. Well I track one target to tat. This Jedi is MD and tanking 2 krayts doing amazing damage !! I engage when I see him going low on health, and I know his force pool should be low. He roots me , hit me one time for over 3k health, and this is without armor break. I had about 100 health left in which was gone the next second. He runs off, I take the name down and move on. Second one, again, master defender is out tanking NS, heading to kill his DJM on dath. Huge numbers popping up, just tearing through them. I engage , and knock down. I snare and get some distance, this guy hits me for about 1.8k damage using saber throw, I burst run and keep the healing up, but I'm hurting. The guy starts sending me tells to just drop the misson, after I sent him a tell about having a nice saber. He doesn't attack anymore, just keeps the tells up to drop misson. He finally tips me 300k to go away, so I take the money. I reported these 2 to SOE using the others name in the same report. Now these are the same people out farming Pearls, and AA's/CA's and selling to the public for milllions !!!!!!!!! Now I realize why I see vendors with hundreds of pearls and ca's/aa's n them, this IS really, really, sad !!!!!!!!! Takes them less than 5min to take out high end mobs, and in the process they milk the hell out of everyone. I personally hop these 2 GET PERMA-BANNED and lose everything on their merchants. So be aware, and make sure to keep your combat log up.

BTW, my temp is MBH/Master Carbs/cm 4000

Known exploit that apparently got re-introduced. Dont make any comments on their sabers, just let them kill you and report them. The less you talk and the less you make them think they are being reported, the higher the chance the saber will still be in their inventory when the CSR looks.

Screenshots of the combat log would be nice.

Thought this bug was fixed

Any single hit for more than about 1500 is suspicious, armor break or not. Turn on time stamps (under Options somewhere) so you can watch out for the "double attack" exploit too. Sounds like the first guy might have been doing both.

Activate time stamps and get a screen shot. This is a serious issue which needs to be delt with harshly.

Come see my thread in the Jedi forums "*clunk*clunk*clunk! Name 4 features without bugs and win!!!" Bet you can't do it!

*edit: I have my saber loaded to 654 with 196 elemental and after applying armorBreak and Dizzy I can hit for slightly above 1300. If the saber were loaded to 800 with 240 elemental I'm curious if the dmg output is capped or if the multiplier would push it close to 1700. Anything over 1700 is abnormal...

I hunt on Dathomir for thrill where I have LARGE spawns of NS who are hitting me for 9 points of dmg and they are lvl 88!!!

I find it so funny Jedi are using these exploited sabers in PvP......like we won't notice when we get incapped in one hit rofl.

If the Jedi was smart he would only use it for PvE, any player dumb enough to exploit in PvP is asking for a ban. Hopefully the CSR's that catch these Jedi (if they don't ban them, prefer that) take all their crystals tune/untuned away. Make them start from scratch that way they are gimped (since the prem/flawless dont' drop anymore).

The only problem with turning on timestamps is that the time is stamped client-side, not serverside.

That means even a little lag makes the timestamp useless. Add to that the fact that the time is rounded off to the nearest second; if your target'sattacks happen at 1.79, 3.58, 5.37, 7.16, 8.95, the timestamps will look something like this:

00:02 "Jedi hits you for #### damage"

00:04 "Jedi hits you for #### damage"

00:05 "Jedi hits you for #### damage"

00:07 "Jedi hits you for #### damage"

00:09 "Jedi hits you for #### damage"

This makes it look like the Jedi hit twice within one second on a pair of attacks, when he didn't. And if there's any lag, this could end up looking like two, three, four hits landed within 1 second because the timestamp is applied by the client when the message gets to your screen.

Now, there apparently is a way to overload a lightsaber. I don't know the method myself and I don't want to know it. I have heard that it is happening. However, relying solely on timestamps and on the occasional damage spike hit for way more than it should is not reliable enough, not on a single encounter.

It's when you hunt the same Jedi several times over, and his attack times are consistently at or below 1 second, and his damage is *consistently* very high, that's when you should suspect an overloaded saber.

Yeah I never go by timestamps. I've hit somepeople multiple times in one second a couple times with my saber....well according to my timestamp.

SOE didn't fix the sabers that were overloaded from months ago

Only the people who got reported for it were checked (I think) the people who didn't get reported probably still have them.

Last person I knew who "overloaded" their saber (back when it was possible to fit a saber with more than the set amount of pearls), they had their saber taken away. It kinda soudns like a small price to pay for what they've done, but I supose it does kind of hurt them in the short-run.

Hick it does not matter if the same guy has another account and playing it most players do if they want to pay for 2 accounts let them and it is not a exploit paying for 2 account that to me i just hav eone acount and that is enough for me..

Word around the campfire was that Jedi wouldn't put their premiums into overloaded sabers, just in case they were taken away.

What they would do is just farm crappy perals and use the worst/cheapest resources in the sabers. It woulnd't matter because they'd have abnormally low Force Cost and really high damage.

And when/if they were caught they'd still have the good premiums to use on a good legit saber.
