Thread: A disgrace to the profession on TC

I would like to tell you my tale of woe and (hopefully) redemption.

For the first time in months, yesterday I took the highest paying NPC mission I could find. Got the bio sig, launched the probot etc. Found the mark, drove out there, jumped off my bike, approached him, checked out his HAM. Got out a rifle, killed him. Total time: 5-10 minutes. Easy and unchallenging.

This was in preparation for todays outing on TC.

Again, I took the highest NPC mission I could find (31k). Sent out the droids etc. Target was on Talus. Travelled there and released a seeker droid - he was 500m away. Great! Jumped on my bike, drove out there. And here is where my tale of shame begins. I drove up to the mark with no weapon equipped, and I'd taken no foods. I wanted to see just how tough the new NPC marks are first. This one was level 81 with 18k health. As soon as I stopped he shot my bike and destroyed it, then started on me. Completely unprepared, I managed to get a weapon (two clicks because they were stored in a droid *blush* Already down to half health, I was stabbing knockdown, panic shot, then healing, taking a neutron pixie, duellest stance etc. I never got my health back above about 3/4 and the mark was regenerating pretty fast. Switching to a plasma flame thrower I managed to put some DOTs on him, but it wasn't enough - he incapped me. The shame of it - incapped by an NPC mark.Anyway, I ran away and healed up, got ready and returned to find he'd gone. Seeker droid was reporting his position elsewhwre in the city, but he was nowhere to be found.

Shame-faced, I called up my speeder, turned the Boba Fett air freshener on the dash to face away from me so I wouldn't have to look him in the visor, and made my way back to the BH term, a disgrace to the BH profession.

Mission 2: Anxious to redeem myself I got another NPC mission. Found the mark on Endor. Thsi time I was more cautions andstowed the bike at 100m, got my foods and a droid then approached. This mark was CL 82 and 35k health. Fantastic! A chance to redeem myself. But it was not to be. The mark seemed to have his little toe stuck inside a tree, so I was unable to attack him. attacking nearby creatures with grenades and area weapons, but couldn't touch him. I reluctantly dropped the mission.

Mission 3: Another NPC mark, this time on Endor. Again, was cautious in approaching. This was was also CL81 with 18k health. I hit him with a knockdown shot but he hit me with the same shot too. He was up before me and firing, but this time I managed to kill him! Loot was money, a delicate trigger assembly and a bio-engineer poster. Not fantastic, but better than the NPC's in live now. More importantly, I started to feel a bit better.

Seriously, the new missions are great! From the moment the first one shot my bike up, I was having fun. Arriving at the next mission and seeing a guy with 35k HAM was exciting (shame about the bug). Anyone who can possibly get on TC, I'd advise you to go and try the new missions. Anyone who can't, try them as soon as they go live.

I am now going back to TC to try a couple more missions. If I succeed at them, I may be able to turn my Boba Fett air freshener around again. If I fail, I guess I'll go hang around outside Eisley for a bit, killing kreetles to make myself feel manly again.

If you drop a camp, that will take care of NPCs stuck in trees etc.

I am glad that you are enjoying the new NPC marks. This was a change long time coming.

Dude! Delicate trigger assembly?! That is fantastic! Do you know how rare those are and how much smugglers are paying for them? (Or at least the customer's who want their weapons sliced)

I can't wait for this to go live.

Great post 5*s. I'm looking forward to the NPC missions. Just don't let it detract from the Jedi Hunts... got to keep the glowbats in check too.

I can't wait to do those missions, I'm a MBH/MSmuggler and delicate trigger assemblies are damn hard to come by....congrats on your loot.

i haven't been incapped by an npc for a long time. I might have to re-think my npc tactics come publish update time. Maybe i'll have to use cover a lot more, like i do when hunting krayts, night sisters, and high end rancors. I can't wait til the new update. we'll get some killer loot

I'm sure the new publish won't go live without making sure all the new CH changes are "fairly" bug free. But that never stopped them in the past so who knows, maybe next week. But they apparently are working on things there in the past few days so I'm holding out some hope that this time they'll get it right and not push it out till it's complete.

A little advise for help when you face a problem like mission 2. Drop a camp on him. This will cause th tree to disappear and you will be able to attack.

Yes the basic camp kit FTW!

Not mando armor, craftable BH armor schematics I believe....mando armor is still only made from the DWB.
