Alright, this is what im currently set up with TKM / BH 3030 / Novice Medic (for the stim Bs of course). Now I have a couple questions...first, how much of an improvement is investigation 4 over investigation 3? Second question...assuming that investigation 4 is not really worth grabbing...which template would be the most effective - TKM / BH 3000 / Pistoleer 4040 or TKM / BH 3000 / Pistoleer 0030 / Novice Medic...I mean I have been a medic since I started so I dont really know what its like not being able to heal yourself. Thanks for any advice you can provide!

For myself, I went Pistoleer 0/0/4/4 for the state defenses and extra melee defense. Get that last tree in Pistoleer and you get something like an extra +40 in melee defense which really helps against Jedi attacks. You might get a hard time here though because some MBH don't like us melee BH's.

I want to hunt Jedi with a ranged Weapon (Pistol) is meleedefense useful in this case? Would BH 3040,Pis Master, TKA 0104 work well or is this higher amount of meleedefense just a waste of point vs a jedi?

With your template you have very little if any chances of killing high end jedi. Pistol can be used on low end jedi, but high end jedi will tear you up. TKM will give you melee damage mitigations which will limit amount of damage against that jedi can do to you. Melee defense is not a waste against jedi, but you also need defenses VS states, pistoleer will give them, but again jedi will run close to you so when you fight him with pistol jedi will have damage bonuses.

if you're a buffed hunter, then the medic line is useless. The points would be better spent elsewhere. I myself would not choose pike, I've mastered it twice and find fencer and tkm much better. Jedi robes do not offer kinetic resists like comp armor so you don't have to worry about not hitting them with your fists. I also find that pike has so few defences that you might lose before the battle starts.
You might want to consider something like TKM/Fencer 4/0/0/0 BH 3/0/0/0 and I'm not sure what pts you would have left, if any. But that would give you huge melee defence which would be nice.

Alright. Setup: I'm a roleplayer on SS who plays a jedi-hating sith wannabe. He's primarily a melee warrior by nature and despises jedi for what happened to his homeworld in the clone wars.
I know most of you guys probably hate melee BHs, but please cut me some slack
How does this template sound:
3000 BH
Master pikeman
2000 medic
0044 combat prowess
0400 enhanced reflexes
It seems like that would be effective, but any input from experience would be greatly appreciated
I also just got a nice 722 max NS lance, which, though it has no AP, i imagine would be very effective vs. a jedi not wearing armor... once again, input on that? if I do this, anything special I should know?
thanks a lot in advance guys.

No hate for melee Bounty Hunters here. I don't see why Bounty hunters have to be pigeon-holed into being a ranged only profession. Except the Jedi can't live without their saber block... umm... seriously, who's to say that the Weeguay that was pushing Luke into the pit with that polearm wasn't a bounty hunter? In the 5 movies out, we have seen 3 BHs in action... the Fetts and the one that Jango killed. That's hardly enough evidence to say ALL BHs are ranged fighters. Unless BH means Fett wannabe.
Burn the last 2 points to get Investigation IV or some ranged defense from the FS skills. Jedi do have friends. Heck, maybe drop medic line and get the FS ranged Defense to help against his buddies.

As there are thousands of these questions, I have one more that I have not seen yet.
1 - Is MBH effective in PVE and PVP as the only combat profession?
2 - I am asking because I am thinking of MBH and some Smuggler (0400) for slicing. So I can do my own slicing.
3 - Also is Medic 0040 or TK 4000 enough for healing, or even needed with MBH effectively. Can you get away without it?
Just asking because I am fullfilling my longtime goal of becoming a MBH which I wish I would of done sooner. But more importantly I wish to be as effective as I can and I was thinking of becoming MBH with some Carb, but was p[laying around with templates and was curious what everyone else thought.

MBH has the potential to be effective in both PvE and PvP - I say potential because a lot is how you play and adapt to your skills
As far as your template goes, since you're headin in that direction anyhow take you slicing and while you're in smuggler take the pistol tree for Last Ditch to compliment your pistol skills. I'd drop the TK line just because it isn't worth the points for the powerboost or for meditate given that you seem to be more ranged focused. Keep the medic you mentioned as this will give you use to stim E's and you can still heal your own wounds (keep a couple woundpack B's around) - you'll need to heal BF anyhow so mind wounds aren't a huge deal. I'm not looking at the trees atm (at work) but you should still be able to invest in a couple of the pistoleer lines which is nice defensive modifiers and some nice shots (not to mention the DE-10 cert).
This is just a suggestion based on what you wrote. Given the upcoming CU, I would just do whatever you think is fun. If you have MBH out of the way then the dabbles into the other professions are cake - you can always rework them later.

Thank you, but I am considering the carbineer tree over pistoleer tree to complimant MBH. And as it sounds the medic is very important. So I am going for MBH, Medic 0040, and dump rest into Pist or Carb then. Thank you again

Ok, I recently got my charecter unlock and I was just wondering if anyone can give me some template advice.
The last time I wasa bounty hunter it was M-Rifles MBH and Pistoleer xxx4. Which at the time worked very well for pvp. The only problem was the lack of heals. Once you got a stim heal in, you couldn't really heal again for a long while. This time around do you think I should get some combat medic in the template? Are heals that important in PVP and jedi hunting?

Flavor of the month is MBH/MRM/CM 4xxx.
Lots of healing potential.
