Thread: How to impliment an Non-Greifing Player Bounty System
- Add 2 new options to the Bounty Hunter Terminals for Non-Bounty Hunters to use
- Register / Unregisterfor Player Bounties
- Simple Enough.
- This allows players, on thier own free will, to choose to be part of the system. This means that they are accepting that they are willing to be a Bounty
- EDIT - Players can opt out of they system by using the Unregister, however this will not abort any active bounty on them. It only stops new ones from being created.
- Place a Bounty
- This would bring up a display that allows the player to issue a bounty on another player (assuming the potential markis registered)
- The Issuer would enter the name of the Mark and the Amount they are willing to pay into the display
- The money is removed from thier back account when they place the bounty
- The default setting would have the bounty open for all Bounty Hunters, but you could check a box and enter the specific name of the Bounty Hunter you want
- Only that Bounty Hunter would be able to get that bounty
- The Bounty Hunter would receive an e-mail letting them no they have a request for a bounty
- The display would have a section for the issuer to the specifics of what they want.
- Capture (see Below)
- Kill (deathblow)
- Add another Tab to the Bounty Hunter List that has "Player Bounties"
- This would allow all Master Bounty Hunter to see what open Bounties are there
- There would be a BH Type (Random / Your name) to let you know which ones have be specificed for you only
Simple enough? Now here is how the mission would work:
- Player issues a bounty for another player and puts up the money (their own money)
- The Bounty Hunter takes the mission (has to put up 10% of the reward as colaterial)
- If this bounty is open for everyone, there would be no limit on how many can take the mission
- If the Bounty Hunter completes the mission (either capture or deathblow) they get paid the bounty and the Issuer gets an e-mail letting them know the mission has been completed
- If the Bounty Hunter is defeated, the collateral is lost and transfered to the Mark and the mission is dropped
- EDIT - The Bounty can still be taken by other Bounty Hunters and the one that failed, but they would have to re pull the same mission
- Each bounty would have a 7 day timer, if no Bounty Hunter completes the mission in that time the Issue is out his money
- EDIT - You can attampt the mission as many times as needed in this 7 day window. The window starts from the point of issue and you can always see how much time you have left. If the time ends and you have not completed the mission, you lose your colaterial.
- Player Bounties would work EXACTLY like Jedi missions
- This includesnot providing names until seeker is used
- All Spynet Operative would be the same
- All Droids would work the same
An added special would need to be added to Master Bounty Hunter called "Capture". This special would only be used for Player Bounties and only when the target is incapped. It would effectevly place handcuffs on the target and complete the mission. No windup timer. If you DB your mark you mission is dropped and incomplete and you do not get paid. IF you mark happens to get Triple Incapped, then you lose your mission and the mission is dropped.
I think this would be endless fun and GREAT for Role Playing purpose and just general fun by all.

I REALLY like this idea. One thing's missing, though. If you added some incentive for people to become marks, then it would be perfect.
On the whole,
/cheers for a great idea!
It'll never happen.
Its like how they fixed BHing for the Jedi
See if they really had just wanted to fix the griefing they could have put a timer so you couldn't take the same Jedi's mission for 30 days. Instead they produced what we have which was clearly made just to be advantages to the Jedi and noone else.
As other people have said, some incententive will be needed for people to become marks, otherwise it will only be full templates that register.
It would be nice if there were 2 seperate systems.APvP one and a PvE one. if you register to become a mark then you will be open for players to hunt you, if not then you will be open for NPC bounty hunters to come and attack you, Either way there is a penalty for gaining too much vis.
