Thread: Jedi Excuses for Running

The other night, I caught my latest Jedi markon Lok outside a player city by a rebel base. There was a couple of kimos in the area that helped make the scene a little bit more interesting. I quickly took out his speeder and proceeded to hammer on him from 80m. The Jedi, immediately turned tail and ran towards town. I persued him all the way through the city (a metro). When my burst run gave out,I quickly loaded my speeder so I could close the remaining distance on him. Right as I turned the corner to come into range again, I notice he is at the shuttle terms and then disappears.

At this point, all of his friends start appearing and start asking me if I needed help with anything. I told them that I was fine and I was just running missions.I drop a droid to find out where he went (he left planet). A few minutes later I get a tell back from the Jedi. He wanted to appoligize for running, he says that if he had known that I was there for a bounty then he would not have run so he could have dueled me. He then said that he did not know I was even there and that he was running from the kimo.

(When was the last time you ran from a kimo where you felt you needed to take a shuttle to a starport and leave planet?)

On the way off planet, hemet me at the starport where he was beefed up and kicked my butt.

All in all, it was a thrilling chase. I just think the lies that Jedi use are funny sometimes.

Rofl. Yeah Jedi will give you every excuse in the world for why they run away, and then they will talk to you for an hour afterwards trying to justify why they did it; I guess they are trying to make themselves feel better or something /shrug.

Nothing wrong with running - if a Jedi can run, he spent skill points to be able to escape. If a BH cant stop him from running, the BH will lose as soon as the three days he can hold the mission passed. To win a BH needs to kill, a Jedi just needs to stay alive - killing the BH is a bonus.

Can't say I understand the excuse-making either. Show up for my bounty, and I will run ifI can as well. No excuse needed, I would think it's glaringlyapparent why I don't want to fight you LOL.

The SWG Forums. You will never find a more wretched hive of
catassery and buttmonkeyism. We must be cautious.

I agree. Nothing wrong with running. Just found the excuse funny.

I second that, a good jedi doesn't need excuse for running

(I never ran btw, except after my BH)

My most recent one was a Jedi I caught on Dath. So I proceed to just snare him and kite him, but once he ran out of Force (he says he was already at 25%), he ran. Ok, so I chase him, on and off battling. When he gets low, he just Force Suppressions and runs. Eventually, he tries to train some NPCs to argo me. It worked til I ran away from the NS slaves. Then we battled, and then he ran. So basically, it goes battle/run/battle/run.

Excuse at the end was A) he was low on Force at the beginning, B) he needed Force to fight me so he ran and channeled, and C) he would gladly fight me one on one at the Science Outpost (however, I am quite confident that he would run if I started to win).

I've always believed in a simple rule; jedi dies to BH = BH win, any other outcome = jedi win. As long as the jedi has no gain from killing the BH, running, cloaking or killing the BH all have the same outcome for the jedi...he didn't lose XP

I run from BH's, and I also get jedi run from me (when I hunt them on my alt). Both situations are great roleplay, and I love it when a BH congratukates me from getting away from him intact.I also salute jedi who escape from my Scatter pistol

Seems this jedi needed to relax a bit and stop worrying about what other people think of him....

I'll put it real simple like for you. For the BH it's all about the thrill of the chase / kill. For the Jedi it's survival, since the BH really has nothing to lose for failing a mission there is no harm in failing, for a Jedi, failing may cost you a few hours to a few days worth of work. (Dont forget some people only play for an hour at a time)

Whenever a Jedi runs, I always hang around his group (If he was in one). It's to make sure that if he isn't going to lose xp to me, he's not going to gain any in his group. If his group helps him escape, then they are a accessory to the crime and his group will pay the price. For some reason, Jedi hating going back to their mission with a BH around. It just bugs them.

Sometimes it works too, because the rest of the group will get so fed up that they fork over their friend just so they can continue!

It's normal for a low-mid level Jedi to run, they're obviously not a finished temp but what I find funny is one Jedi I killed once tried to run away and kept offering me bribes not to kill him but I got him anyways. A month later I see him in MO saying to someone else "I have not been hunted by a BH in a while, I wish someone would take my mission"... good lord.

I agree why stay and fight, another BH will take his place if you win and if you loose, you die and bang goes some XP. Hell run like the wind is what I say!
