Im currently a MBH and Master rifleman.....thinking of respec to Master Pistols for root shoot.

I only user rifleman for sniping mobs...

I do quests and PVE....

Should I leave rifles or go to pistols.

Please let me know from all you vets out there...I would like to rule!

You pvp ranged. So you want to kite your opponent: (Keep him in your attack range but out of his)

Pistol range 35m

Rifle 80m

MBH-MCM-4000Rifle If you max out your efficiencies with this template you can be nasty to a Jedi. There are threads on the Jedi forums dedicated to how to kill a MCM BH. Just my 2cents.

I actually just switched from rifles to pistol xxx4 (with MCM). Rifle range won't neccesarily help that much if you don't have a way to root or stop the Jedi. Even with pistols you can still use a HLR decently if you need the longer range.

rarely, excuse me, VERY rarely can you stay 80m from a mark and still shoot at him.

hell, i have trouble keeping LOS at 50m with my carbines.

This is a really interesting point, I have been mpistols and mrifleman and found that both are good fun, mrifleman will give you more range and damage over pistols, you'll also have the ability to use cover, conceal shot and sniper shot which is nice. So rifles specialise in damage, pistols on the other hand is a control profession so you negatively affect the attack of the enemy while doing a some damage but not as much as rifleman.

Alternatively trymrifleman and get stopping shot in pistols x/x/x/3. Run a few hunting and faction missions to seewhat happensin pve. Then use respec to go mpistoleer and dabble in rifleman 3/x/x/x for head shot which is nice and any other skills that catch your eye, run similar missions as before to get some idea of what you prefer. I tried these combos and preferred mrifleman as the primary profession but that's only because I feel more comfortable at distance and with the extra damage capability. Try it and see how you go as it comes down to your opinion on what gives you most enjoyment. If you have the respecs try mcarbineer, you maybe surprised at how that turns out.

Rifleman.

Why?

Mainly because of advanced sniper shot. When you first find your mark, go prone about 60m away, and fire advanced sniper shot. On average,I hita fully template jedi (not defender though) for about 1200. Then use underhand shot, and advanced critical.

Ok, well if you read my post then you will see CM is the part I think is important. I don't care where you spend the last 4000 points, but I think rifle hits the hardest.

fixed.

also kiting isnt the only way to go...personally i stand toe to toe against the jedi, screws their action and they run out of force faster. nothing like kding a jedi at half health and zero action. Best part about going toe to toe is jedi has nothing to whine about after you win...."wah you stayed in my range and let me hit you with my superior weapon the whole time, thats not fair or balanced"

I was MBH MRM MM(marks) and 0003 pistols and I actually had to grind to respec to MBM MCM 4000rifles. If I were you, I would respec to MCM and grind out whatever pistol/rifle xp you choose, rather than grinding the med xp. I didn't do this, but I wish I had.

However, you may be able to respec to what you want, I think my problem was that I had master marksman and it didn't provide enough 'elite' points.
