Thread: Little Paddie beat down...I almost feel bad about it...

Well this is something that never would have happened pre pub 20, so here goes.
My main MBH on Chilastra ia Mawl, I have an Alt named Tonie on the same server (different account) both since launch. I was going to go Jedi with Tonie but after seeing some of the attitudes that they jedi have shown recently I decided to leave him as an MBH(not a respec but he had never hunted real players), first thing I do is use my token respec (finally) I dropped Master Smuggler and picked up Master Combat Medic (after all my research that is what I used the respec for). I find 6000 energy armor and slice it to 75% armor break resist. I get a massive kryated scatter pistol, best power ups, Nuetron Pixie, Valarian brandy, Ruby, etc. I practice with full template friends getting my tactics down etc. In other words it was the opposite of Mawl.I spent a week getting him ready to hunt.
I finally take a deep breath and go to the terms. I pull my very first mssion ever with Tonie, after the informant dance , I get "Kashykk" . I head out , hit the second trail (twice I have found my mark in the 2nd trail I hit, pure luck I guess). As I go to the guide to head to web weaver, he is between the exit and the clone (no afk tag up). I checked on a whim as I ran past and actually saw the "attack" go ahead...wow...that was easy... just asI come back towards him, I pounce. I have no idea how strong this guy is. He turns my way. KD, Torso, Adv Crit, Stopping shot, Torso, down he goes, litterally 10 seconds. I obliterated the guy, I mean obliterated, no challenge whatsoever....DB and guess what? A measly 60K payout.
I NEVER would have taken that one pre pub 20.

Unfortunately, you would be one of the very few who wouldn't, which is why things have changed to give Jedi that are low level a more balanced chance to progress.

For every BH that would not have taken a low-level Paddie mission, there are5 others that would, and many of them have bragged about that on this forum and elsewhere.

I almost feel bad when I kill a 150k or less mark (which i never took after about my 3rd week back). Then I think, "Hmm in a few weeks/months he will be max temp and kicking some major butt in PVP"
then i smile.
Funny how they made it even easier for a paddy to level now. It seems like Jedi is getting easier and easier.
(I say easier because more full temps and Kash grinders are showing up on the terms)

If by "easier" you mean "less risky" then I definitely agree with you. The mind-numbing grind before and after reaching Padawan was never hard, just time-consuming. Pre-Pub9 and Pre-Pub20, it also entailed a helluva lot more risk, too. I would actually be happy, even as a non-full-temp Jedi, to have the whole process, even the part I have left to do,be actually more diificult, instead of just time-consuming.
But then I've been called crazy and/or weird on more than one occasion.

Few? Not very many Bounty Hunters will take missions that low.
I used to take them that low but I never killed the mark. I'd scare them and make them beg for mercy after the second incap, then I'd let them run away and I'd cancel the mission.

And we are going to be seeing not only more Jedi, but far more Full Temps. Those paddies WILL eventually become full temps...and once they are full temps, they will STAY full temps.

I am not sure that is true. A 100K -132K mark is also easy pickings, trust me, it is a myth that BHs took those super low marks. Maybe you do it the very first time you try it and that's about it.

You underestimate the kids who think it is there duty to keep jedi from leveling. These easy Jedi would be dead within seconds... and a lot of BH bragged about doing it. They considered it Jedi Population Control. Simply stupid, if you ask me. One of the reasons I'm glad theychanged things so that missions are more anomonous.

I completely agree. I never would've taken a 60k mark either. But there was no way you could've known before you killed him

I got my A$$ handed to me by a 40k Jedi 
He was CL80 same as me, and used only Unarmed moves on me. Probably a Teras Kasi Master lol.
I always tried to go for Jedi between 40-170k it all depended on who was online and not on Kash, that was until I learned to love the easy money on Kash
Me and 3 other BHs used to scour all of the ryaatt instances sending each other e-mails on who was where and who was likely afk, then we would slaughter them 1 by 1. Great money, great times, and more than a few 200k jedi

Can't agree with this. I've never come across another hunter in game who targeted anything under 100k unless the terminals were otherwise empty.
